These dolls are amazing plus very high quality. The fact that they embrace Africa in their designs (Ankara print) and are Black owned definitely had me sold. My daughter is biracial and she loves her new light brown Ikuzi doll. It was pretty hard finding a light skinned (or black doll period) w/natural hair + African clothing (definitely not in target/walmart). Representation is really important in child self esteem/self-image and we all know Afro Diaspora are very under/misrepresented. What you guys are doing is Amazing. Ikuzi over American Doll any day.
Oh what a beautiful memory of Olivia seeing her twin ( doll) on Christmas. I had the doll dressed just like her when she opened the box it was like looking in a mirror. Love it!
My daughter is 5. She was not happy with the beautiful hair God gave her. So young. So I went on a mission to find a doll (almost :-) ) as beautiful as her. Thank you for being THE ONLY company that could help me. My heart soared when my baby opened her doll on Christmas and squealed loudly "she's so pretty" and then, very softly she whispered "she looks like me..."
I purchased 3 dolls for my 3 grandchildren for Christmas 2016. I watched their faces Christmas morning, in total amazement when each of them opened their carefully wrapped dolls, in their individual case. They loved their dolls, "Nana, she's beautiful, she looks like me, my skin, my hair",...............That was a moment that is etched in memory. I thank you for introducing these dolls to the world. I'm Canadian, and I searched since their birth to find a doll that was soft, beautiful, and resembled my girls. This is not my last purchase, I have another grandchild who is almost a year.........
